Emma Hayes, textile maker, loves creating patterns.
She used to work at Cybele creating many of the much-loved printed fabrics for Cybele Wiren’s designs, and now she’s launched her own line of prints for the home, called MM Collection, after her similarly-titled design consultancy called MM Studio.
We joined her for morning tea on Tuesday 15 November for the launch of her "MM Collection" at the Simon James Concept Store, located inside The Department Store, at 10 Northcroft St, Takapuna.
To begin her new MM Collection’s first range Emma has made two prints using traditional hand-printing techniques and digital processes combined. They are River and Rockpool, both inspired by moving waters.
River has flowing blue lines, and Rockpool has grey pebbly textures.
The prints come in many homewares forms, including cushions ($189), pillowcases ($289), and silk scarves to wear ($159).
