Prisma is the latest collection for Autumn Winter 2011 by Deborah Sweeney, with geometric shapes combining with colour in a signature Prisma print designed by graphic designer -and partner of Deborah Sweeney- Niels Meyer-Westfeld.
This print was inspired by Gemma Smith, an Australian artist who produces abstract and colourful art pieces.
Favourites for Autumn Winter 2011 include her comfortable sweat pant, slouchy tee-shirts and ponchos.
These can be teamed with more upmarket silk fabrics or by “mixing high and low pieces” as Deborah says.
Here are a couple of looks combining silks and knits together. First, the Prisma print on a Sweeney silk dress teamed with the cylindric sweatpant, and second, the Octagon sweat, Prisma dress and Cylindric sweat pant collide to create a comfortable but style savvy look.
Here, the structure of a black blazer meets silk pant comfort teamed with the Prisma pant.
As well as being available online, why else do we like Deborah Sweeney’s AW11 collection? Sweeney has used luxurious fabrics such as silk, eco-friendly tencel, Pima cotton and Italian cashmere wool and wool blends. She has shown us how to juxtapose fabric in a comfortable fashion-forward way.

Most recently, Deborah Sweeney has started designing a new range, for children under two entitled ‘Little Sweeney’. Read more about it on Thread.co.nz here.
This range coincided with the launch of the online Deborah Sweeney store. There has been quick uptake of online sales across both ranges, the first being from international customers.
Get Deborah Sweeney by visiting the online store at www.deborahsweeney.com where the current Daytripper Spring Summer 2010 collection is on sale now.
And Autumn is coming along quickly. We can’t wait…
