Travel, literature, poetry and painting have inspired the debut collection by Sunday, the new Wellington-based label directed by Sally Eagle and Miriam White.

The colours of Italian fresco and stained glass are translated into wearable, feminine designs along with a small collection for the guys. If you’re interested in purchasing these lovely pieces email Sunday or view the entire collection at www.sundayapparel.com.

We’re looking forward to lazy summer afternoons hot enough to wear one of these sweet and thoughtful sleeveless shirts.

Or an invitation to a summer party to show off one of these adorable dresses.

The collection is an impressive first offering which will mix in well with vintage or trend pieces. This approach ties in with an important part of Sunday’s philosophy of longevity. “We do look at what’s going on around the world in fashion but we’re more interested in creating pieces which are more classic than trend oriented”.

The theme of ‘journey’ has played out behind the scenes as well – starting a business and designing for their own label has been a challenging yet liberating experience. Miriam and Sally met at University and decided to forge a path together after Sally finished at the end of 2009.

Their design style finds a balance between Miriam’s more structured approach and Sally’s love of feminine and frilly. As well as hard work it’s been a great opportunity to involve others and apply the polish from their talented network.

We’re pleased to see such a brave success from two lovely young ladies and look forward to seeing where the journey leads to next.

Don’t wait until the weekend, to get into your Sunday best.
