The Week On Thread Episode 128

In The Week On Thread Episode 128, the twenty-eighth column of 2018, I showcase some pics of highlights in photos of what I’ve been doing in late December, mostly around Auckland. It’s the highlights from my Instagram, which you can follow over at www.instagram.com/threadnz to see daily updates and what’s new.

The Week On Thread Episode 128

moontide

The perfect summer one piece! This is the pretty new summer print from Moontide, called Oasis. Unrelated to Gallagher brothers singing about champagne supernovas. The one piece comes with tassels which I’ve styled tied behind my neck but usually they hang down. I am fully behind this New Zealand swimwear company using us kiwi mums to wear their togs on Instagram as well as their models as it’s nice to see them on all women of all ages 🙂 Was going to take photo outdoors until the Christmas storms, so a bathroom selfie it is! I always think of myself as a sweet tooth person, but put out bowls of nuts and pistachios in shells, and I will devour them like nobody's business. Snacks courtesy of Alison's Pantry, in New World stores which has no packaging so you can buy just what you need and re-use the bags.

Yum! It's looking like an Italian Christmas. Authentic Italian Flamigni Panettone from Sabato. I love the fruits and the string with a wax seal on the packaging, so pretty!

Cupcake inspo: reindeer cupcakes with red noses and pretzel antlers

Cupcake inspo:  reindeer cupcakes with red noses and pretzel antlers by @amyssecretkitchen sent to me courtesy of @thegeneralistpr and @schwarzkopfproanz today. So cute and were instantly devoured moments after this photo was taken 🙂 You could decorate some yourself with homemade or shop-bought cupcakes with pretzel antlers and a smartie for a nose.

I made a wall decoration in my child's bedroom using the tissue flowers I'd made for my birthday and sticky glue dotting them in a cluster on the wall. Paper flowers were a craft kit by Martha Stewart from TVSN (gifted). Children's dress by Karen Walker.

Merry Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful day. I'm having the family for Christmas lunch, and mum stuffed and cooked the turkey, which was the best turkey I've ever had, from @croziers_turkeys_nz, followed by Trivial Pursuits. The annual tradition of kids sleeping under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, somehow now has to include mummy, but I insisted on having a mattress, and a wine. Think I'll need a nap later!

You don't have to go far to have a holiday when Auckland puts on a day like today.
