How pretty is this Matahiwi Estate Rose bottle? Never mind that my candy floss flatlay prop has literally melted in the heat wave. I’m celebrating the end of the school holidays and I just learned that NZ Rose Day is on 5th February in case you need any excuse for a glass of something pink. Cheers!
Whangateau Roses at Matakana Markets. A simple bunch of these in a deep cream were my own wedding flowers.
Beautiful day for a party! At @michikohylands twins’ birthday pool and pizza party today. Remember your sunscreen everyone, it’s a scorcher out there. Otanjoobi omedetoo.
I bought a felt ball rug. Here it is in my hallway. It takes some getting used to walking on it in bare feet as it’s so knobbly underfoot.
Homemade apple pie made from my daughter’s birth tree; an annual tradition where we pick the apples and bake a pie with them. She loves it and remembers it all year and watches her apple tree come into blossom and fruit.
Off to the premiere of New Zealand film Daffodils starring Kimbra with George Mason and Rose McIvor in a love story featuring iconic NZ music spanning decades. Check out daffodilsmovie.co.nz
What Men Want stars the excellent Taraji P. Henson and was really funny, with lots of laugh-out-loud moments. It opens on February 14th as a perfect Valentine’s Day date movie. Pic: with Simone Anderson at tonight’s New Zealand premiere of @whatmenwant
Walking at dusk is the greatest. A funny story; a woman came up to me and said she recognised me from Instagram which has never happened to me before and then she says, “From Melissa Jack’s Instagram, from @thebestnest“. Ha ha! Go Melissa.
Who was a brownie or girl guide or scout or has children who are? Are they enjoying it? We have just joined as I want her to be challenged with new experiences and have adventures. So far she’s loving it and they’re off to the New Zealand countryside into the great outdoors for her first adventure away from mummy but I think she’ll be fine and I’ll be the wreck.
Tried licking it off but it was too late.
