Interestingly, ECCO have identified two groups of core customers: the ‘demanding’ consumer who likes classic and comfortable styles, and the ‘open-minded’ consumer who likes current fashion trends.
I clearly fall into that latter category, a group for whom shoes are "not just practical but a mode of self-expression."
One intersection set between the two consumer groups I fall into however is the love of comfort. I hate buying cheaply-made and poorly-constructed shoes that have shocking arch support and give me a pain in the…arch.
ECCO feel like you’re walking in slippers, even when you’re wearing high heels. So it was with great delight that I tried on these new season red leather wedges.
Below: the Moki sandal. As the very helpful store manager at Milford ECCO pointed out, like all of their shoes, it has cushioning to make it springy to walk on, and it has a longer flat section under the ball of your foot before it goes upwards. Shoes that increase too quickly, give you that walking on tippy-toes feeling, and have terrible shaping in what they call the ‘pitch’ or height of the shoe. This is pitched perfectly; it doesn’t even feel like a high heel, it’s so comfortable!
The Moki wedge – along with ECCO’s spring styles – is now in store. For stockists and more info see www.ecco.com/nz
