Merino wool is perfect for young skin with its soft fibres and Nature Baby has released a new range of incredibly soft organic merino wool separates. The wool is sourced from sheep that have been raised organically, free from chemical dipping, drenching and scouring.

So we took them for a spin, hard at work at play…

The Merino Essentials line includes a sleeping gown ($79.95), swaddling wrap ($69.95), drawstring trouser, kimono bodysuit, kimono longsleeve top, and knotted beanie now available in mushroom and nautical stripes. We found the sizing to be quite generous and long in the leg, with our 18 month old model in the size 1 garments.

The kimono longsleeve top not only opens easily to allow room to pull on over little heads, it provides two layers of warmth for children’s chests. Oh – and it looks very cool.

Pictured left: the kimono longsleeve top in white and red stripe ($49.95) and drawstring pant in Mushroom ($49.95.) We liked that the drawstring pant has both elastic and a drawstring tie and would be ideal to sleep in or wear by day.

Below: Almost pulling the wool over her eyes: the Merino Essentials knotted beanie in Mushroom ($26.95). Amber teething beads also from Nature Baby.

It’s perfect gear for playing with a cat jigsaw puzzle – also from Nature Baby-

and helped by the real cat!
