Band tees with a twist – Wordsby.co.nz
On Thursday 19th August, the crème de la crème of Auckland’s artistic crowd braved the cold and rain to attend the launch of WORDSBY at St Kevins Arcade, K’ Road.
The brave were treated with funky tees, sweet tunes and free flowing alcohol. The brand gives a twist to the classic band tee, and it’s a creative melting pot with musicians teaming up with artists.
Taking the lyrics provided by Kiwi musicians, the artists put their talents to use and translate the lyric to create a design to tell a story.
This collaboration involves Closet.co.nz with bands: Shihad, The Clean, Dimmer, The Verlaines, Hello Sailor, The Mint Chicks, Ladyhawke, The Body Electric, The Exponents, The Naked and Famous, K’Lee, Minuit, Dam Native and artists: Special Problems, Kelvin Soh, Juliet Arnott, Sarah Maxey, Sarah Larnach, Erin Forsyth, Tom Henry, Henrietta Harris, Minna Pesonen, and Simon Chesterman.
Dave Gibson, Henrietta Harris and Kelvin Soh.
Presenting the tees in the arcade was a printing machine running hot to keep the eager fans satisfied. Mike Modgill, the screenprinter working at the machine, found it an interesting and exciting experience to be able to be part of the event and see his satisfied customers.
Shakira Twigden who was working at the sales desk was kept busy all night meeting the demand of the launch attendees.
Congratulations to Dave Gibson, Kelvin Soh, and all who were involved in the organization of the collaboration and the well put together launch.
