“Those who seek beauty shall find it” reads the motto on the emails of Zoe Williams of brother and two sister jewellery brand, Zoe and Morgan.If you seek beauty here, you are sure to find it.There are silver and gold rings, necklaces and earrings dripping from wall displays and lining glass cabinets in the City Works Depot showroom when I head in for a preview of the new season range by Zoe and Morgan entitled ‘Eye of the Tiger’.But it’s not just beauty you notice in the cabinets, but in the makers themselves, both inside and out. I have known the Sibbald siblings Ruth, Zoe and Morgan, through my brother, for over twenty years now. The girls even briefly modelled my designs when I stocked them in a boutique in Devonport many years ago, and I think my family was responsible for giving one of the strict vegetarians meat accidentally in a savoury, but otherwise it’s been all good. Now, my brother buys his wife their earring designs and she always gets compliments on them wherever she wears them.Thread was invited to view the range at London Fashion Week back in February this year, and our London correspondent, Alia Gargum, did a write-up of it here: Zoe and Morgan at London Fashion Week.Alia Gargum reported for Thread; “The range was inspired by family travels to the Himalayan mountains, and the traditional patterned rugs, weaving, tigers (naturally), tattoos and icons of the area.
The tattoo aspect of the collection is fantastic- a collaboration with illustrator and tattoo artist Minka Sicklinger brings a personal touch to each piece. Sicklinger is a tattoo artist from NYC they collaborated with on this season’s designs, mixing Bhutanese iconography with her own signature symbols for the collection. Unlike tattoos, though, you can change around and add as much of this collection as you like without fear of a tattoo needle.”
