In this week’s Meet the Model, Larry Paing talked to Chiara and Norina Gasteiger of Clyne Model Management, who show us that good things do come in pairs.

Age and height?
Chiara: Eighteen years, 5’8 ½
Norina: Four minutes younger than Chiara, but we’re exactly the same height.

Place of origin?
Chiara: Germany
Norina: Groß-Zimmern, Germany

Ethnicity?
Chiara: European
Norina: Our father is German and our mother is Austrian.

How were you discovered?
Chiara: It’s actually a pretty weird story, we were scouted by Clyne and amazing photographer Garth Badger simultaneously.
Norina: Our agent at the time Ursula scouted us on the way to a lecture. Garth had also found us on Facebook through a mutual friend and kindly put through a good word to the agency.

Who is the better twin?
Chiara: (Haha) We have completely different talents and personalities, so it’s impossible to judge.
Norina: Equality for all! (Haha) um… Chiara?

What is your dream modelling job?
Chiara: An H&M campaign on horseback featuring numerous sets of twins. Actually, I’d be stoked with any campaign.
Norina: I’m happy and grateful for anything, so long as it’s with my twin sister. Traveling through modelling would be awesome though!

What is your favourite band/music?
Chiara: Anything with a danceable beat like club music! Ohhh and anything with deep meaningful lyrics that isn’t too soppy, if you know what I mean?
Norina: The Beatles and anything chill that you can dance to.

Places you would like to visit?
Chiara: I want to see the whole world! But Croatia would be pretty amazing.
Norina: Let me re-phrase that…. Which places wouldn’t I like to visit? I aim to travel the whole world in my lifetime!

Currently you are obsessed with…
Chiara: Surviving this semester at University and finding a kick-ass apartment (preferably with a pool and gym.)
Norina: Getting free samples online. Jack/Finn Harries (the famous Youtube twins)?
Chiara: (Speechless)
Norina: Are they the same person mirrored? Trippy!

Favourite New Zealand designer?
Chiara: I have a few: Ruby, Cybele, Nyne but also Huffer, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Zambesi of course, all their clothing is so wearable!
Norina: I can’t just choose one! Literally every single designer we’ve worked with has amazing clothing and was so lovely!

Favourite summer outfit?
Chiara: I love crop tops, leather shorts and bikinis so I can get my tan on.
Norina: My op-shop dungarees or a bikini, because that means it’s hot enough and I’m most likely at a beach or lake.

Most beautiful person in your opinion is…
Chiara: Everyone is beauuuuutiful in his or her own way! I think that people themselves are a form of art.
Norina: A positive person who is self-confident and a joy to be around.
