It seems apt to be loading this post on the new M.A.C collection Punk Couture as Lorde is winning Grammys with her ‘punk-goth’ style makeup by M.A.C’s Amber D.

New Zealander (now based in Australia in her new role for MAC) Amber Dreadon flew to L.A to create Lorde’s modern gothic look with dark plum lips and pale iridescent skin with Blacktrack Fluidline on eyes. It suited Lorde’s signature look of flocked-out eyeliner, dark lips, and creamy complexion, perfectly. Just stunning.

Like Lorde, the new Punk Couture collection from M.A.C is so rock ‘n’ roll. It teams hardcore purples with gothic, murky sheer tinted dark glosses and a deep, dark black lipstick that fit her aesthetic succinctly. Let’s take a look at Punk Couture…

Don your leather jacket and fishnet tights and wear Studded Kiss oxblood red lipstick and pout. Slip into your tartan miniskirt and slick some sheer black with gold pearl Jet Boy Lipglass across your lips and sneer.

Below: I shot some of the new Punk Couture Collection by M.A.C against my vintage leather jacket.

Lipglass ($48) Jet Boy – sheer black with gold pearl, No Apologies – sheer black with pinkish-purple pearl. Also available: Dark Outsider – creamy true black. No Apologies reminds me of the MAC Lipglass by punk-fahsion designer, Gareth Pugh, from his limited edition colab range a while back that I have, that is sheer with a dark purple tint.

Below: Get hardcore, with Hautecore. Who needs fifty shades of grey, when you have one true matte black lipstick?

Below: Retro Matte Lipstick in oxblood; Studded Kiss ($40)

Below: My pick of this Eyeshadow quad is the deepest blackened plum. Eyeshadow x 4 in All Races, Idol Eyes, Magic Moor, Carbon. ($96)

The punk Lipglasses below are shot against the VOGUE ON book of the originator of punk fashion, Vivienne Westwood.
