This was a show like no other – a theatrical presentation of Autumn Winter fashion modelled by dancers from The Human Agency in the carpark at Sylvia Park to a standing-room-only crowd.
The in-season and free to the public catwalk show took a different approach to the standard runway fashion show, instead setting themed performances to popular music, with groups of outfits styled by Viva stylist Rachel Morton. It opened with a goth piece complete with fire dancers, and showcased themes of all the key season trends, including tartan, leather, sportswear, eveningwear, and even sleepwear from over 90 Sylvia Park retailers with 110 outfits and 60 pairs of shoes worn by a dozen performers.
The beautiful and witty Sonia Gray MCd the show, entitled ‘Fashion in the Park’ – a play on Sylvia Park and the venue of the carpark.
Sylvia Park marketing manager Jo Allen said, “There is a loose theme of ‘circus’ and I am told there are some exciting and spectacular theatrical elements to it!”
