COOP AW15 at New Zealand Fashion Week 2014
Kiss Me
The highlight of COOP, Trelise Cooper’s more youthful line, was the Roy Lichenstein pop art-style prints on garments. In fact, she wore a skirt in the COOP finale with “Kiss me” emblazoned on her behind – perhaps a retort to detractors over the feather headdress controversy from the first night.
GoPro
I liked the styling with the choice of footwear; causal sneakers that really suited the youthful garments and it all came together well, from the hair down to the shoes. At one stage, models wore GoPro units on their wrists, turning the cameras back on the watchers and making them the watched. Colour-wise, my favourite apart from the pop art, were the navy blue and bronze combinations.
The New Army
Tee-shirts also promoted a campaign for Breast Cancer Research Trust, The New Army, (#thenewarmy) as Trelise Cooper is a patron of the BCRT and does much work and fundraising for the charity.
Beauty looks at COOP
The hair, described as a “simple, carefree up ‘do” was brought to life by Michael Beel and the Buoy salon team using L’Oréal Professionnel products. Michael Beel said; “We wanted to emulate a young woman who has just woken and casually tied her hair up. The look is relaxed and unassuming, as though she did it herself.” Photo below by L’Oréal Professionnel.
Here’s the MAC face look by key makeup artist, Nicole Thompson.
