What goes with sunny days by the ocean, more than a cold drink in hand, and watching the boats go by? It’s perfect than that Peroni Nastro Azzurro, the official beer partner of the Volvo Ocean Race Auckland Stopover, has constructed an incredible House of Peroni down on Auckland’s waterfront, and I was lucky enough to visit the launch party on Friday night.
The 2018 Volvo Ocean race will cross four oceans and 12 cities with a stopover in Auckland from February 24th to March 18th. The House of Peroni, designed by Angus Muir in the race village in Auckland’s Viaduct area on the Te Wero footbridge, will be open to the public daily from noon to 10pm from February 24th to March 18th, with a licensed bar selling ice cold Peroni and delicious Italian cuisine with a view.
Above: I’m at House of Peroni for the ‘Cinema Peroni’ launch party, watching Italian film, La Pazza Gioia, from Rialto Channel, on an outdoor screen specially constructed, with trademark blue and white deckchairs in rows with snuggly blankets, and cocktails and beer, food and ice creams delivered to our seats! Total bliss.

The Peroni-inspired cocktail- so refreshing.
So chic, so Italian; bruschetta, arancini, pappardelle, and a Giapo gelato to finish.
Head down to the Viaduct with your friends, for a cold one at the House of Peroni and watch the world – and the boats – go by.
