OUTFIT POST: What I’ve Been Wearing In August 2019
This looks like the perfect place for a moment of reflection. Ha ha. At SO Auckland’s photogenic lobby of black marble and white chandeliers, in a cream silk organza halter dress from Japan, fur trim secondhand coat. I love cream for evening not just day; such a nice change from black eveningwear too.
Silk dress from Japan, with Michiko Hylands, at the media launch of Glam by Manicare magnetic lashes at SO/Auckland.
Secondhand furry jacket.
At the BEAUTIFUL home of Nicky, a stylish woman with a penchant for red lips and leopard print, whom you should all follow – especially if you love fashion and plus-size style inspiration. I’m wearing top by Issey Miyake, trousers by Witchery, gloves by Cybele, shoes Mi Piaci, headscarf vintage. Photos by Nicky @thestylehighclub_nz
I love to dress in a blend of old and new.
Try adding new accessories to vintage garments for a fresh look.

Braved the wild Auckland weather tonight to head in to the gorgeous balloon and flower-filled Tommy’s Champagne Parlour up at Seafarers for the Boohoo x Laybuy party with a champagne and oyster bar, DJ, photo wall, and build your own bouquet florist station with Ruby Rose Flower Studio. You can now shop using Laybuy at Boohoo. Pictured L-R: Simone Anderson, Erin Simpson, Kate Manihera, Anna Lee Kemsley, Megan Robinson, Ayeesha Taylor, Olivia Moana, and Alex Moulden.

Discovering Trilogy – both old and new – at tonight’s Rosehip Rediscovered event at Blush flowers beautiful space with many lovely beauty bloggers. To mark the release of Hydrating Jelly Mask – a beautiful moisture mask containing rosehip, hyaluronic acid and Manuka Honey- cool sculptural jellies were created by The Jellyologist, and we drank bubbly Rose from petalled-rim glasses. Along with the jelly mask, the iconic rosehip oil has been reimagined in a travel size with metal rollerball applicator ideal for the handbag. A highlight was meeting the gorgeous Trilogy team, and having them personally guide us through the ranges and select products to suit our skin. There really is something for everyone!
Rock chicks: Lorna Subritsky and I at the NZ premiere of Blinded By The Light movie, the feelgood film of the year, based on a true story, from the Director of Bend It Like Beckham. We dressed as The Boss in honour of the lead character’s obsession with Bruce Springsteen and how his lyrics changed the Pakistani British teenager’s life. Set in Thatcher era England in 1987 amongst unemployment, racism, and family drama just as relevant today as back then, this tender yet hilarious coming of age film centres around a boy’s relationship with his father, and following your dreams. We laughed and cried. Go see it.
My homage to Bruce Springsteen for Blinded By The Light movie.
NEW HAIR WHO DIS. With my fabulous hairstylist Philliann at Blaze salon Newmarket. It’d been 3 months since my last haircolour thanks to school holidays coinciding with my one in between, and I was over wearing berets and head scarves on my roots, ha ha!
SUCH A COOL SHOW! I laughed throughout the show and was blown away by the quality of the singers, especially the iconic Annie Crummer, and the entire cast. Pictured above: at the premiere of We Will Rock You musical at Bruce Mason Centre Takapuna on a Harley Davidson. I wore dress by Boohoo Night, earrings by Lovisa, Hair flower by Natalie Chan.
