The classic that basically everyone thinks of when they think "ballet", is beautifully recreated by The Royal New Zealand Ballet in a national tour of New Zealand as the centrepiece of the RNZB’s 60th birthday year.
You’ll definitely recognise the famous Tchaikovsky score that brings it to life. The set design was stunning, from the opening scene of them dancing in the forest, to the spooky dimly lit lake watching the sixteen white feathered swans dance.
The costumes were exquisite too, with layers of tulle floating as they moved, and their classic white feathered head dresses atop their heads.
Prices range around $60 – $80 and it runs for 2 hours and 40 minutes including two intervals. 10/10.
