Justin Brice Guariglia, a New York City based artist and photographer known for his work addressing climate change, has partnered with icebreaker. The icebreaker x Justin Brice Guariglia collection features Guariglia’s remarkable pictures of Greenland’s melting glaciers.
I was kindly sent one to try out myself, and I LOVE it. I’ve been a fan of icebreaker for years but this new print not only makes it more distinctive as a garment, it also brings to attention the climate change effects on our planet.
I shot some pics wearing the new glaciers print around Auckland, styled with my everyday fashion – but it would be equally at home on top of a mountain peak in The Remarkables, or walking your dog on Takapuna Beach. So, here I am wearing a longsleeve graphite top in the Winter 2021 icebreaker x Justin Brice Guariglia collection.

Easy to move in and life your life.

Exhibited around the world, Justin Brice Guariglia’s stunning interpretations of human-impacted landscapes gives the audience a startling view of the natural world in crisis.
“It’s clear that responding to climate change is the moral imperative of our time… as the world becomes more disorientating, art will play a more critical role in society because of its unique ability to make reality apparent. Art can help us question and challenge our existing moral, philosophical, and ethical assumptions—in that way, art has the ability to transform us, our society, and our politics.”
The Anthropocene is the subject of Guariglia’s recent work. Beginning in 2015, Guariglia began flying on earth science missions with NASA scientists over Greenland where he was able to document the islands’ rapidly disappearing glaciers.
