Are you into fashion design, blogging, the fashion industry, beauty, and makeup? You’ll love this exciting news – the inaugural Spark Lab Fashion Month is bringing New Zealand fashion’s most influential figures to 14 free workshops in Britomart, Auckland next month.
This February 2015, Spark Lab will host 14 free events from a wide selection of top local fashion designers and industry insiders to give those interested in fashion a glimpse into the world – from tours, talks, and even makeup seminars.
Just one of the events sees Zambesi’s Liz Findlay and Dayne Johnston talking guests through the latest designs and coming trends from Zambesi followed by a private, closed-doors shopping event – where one lucky guest will win a shopping spree and be styled by Liz Findlay personally!
I think a stand-out is the Murray Crane ‘Dragon’s Den’ style evening called Devil’s Den for aspiring fashion industry stars to win an internship and mentoring. This is career-starting stuff; get into it people.
A couple of the events are for Spark (ex-Telecom) customers only, such as the MAC workshop and the design your own custom Huffer T-shirt.
Why is Spark doing it? It targets the youth market in a fashionable area, fashion, and they stated that such “hands-on access to mentors is of huge benefit to young New Zealanders starting out in niche industries like fashion.” We think it sounds fabulous for students of fashion, Communications, PR and photography as well as those members of the public wanting an inside look into the industry.
