Starfish celebrated the new Spring Summer 2012/13 collection coined ‘Common Thread’ with live dancers, Amisfield wine, golden tickets, Bodyshop make-overs and great conversation. Laurie Foon, Starfish’s founder and creative director welcomed family and friends and introduced the new season.

The Willis Street store in Wellington invited VIPs to hand-pick new season designs in time to dress for the 2012 Brancott Estate World of Wearable Art Show (WOW) which hits the capital this weekend. WOW is one of Wellington’s busiest weekends for retailers.

Starfish stocks two fantastic Wellington labels: Kow Tow, designed by Gosia Piatek, and Deborah Sweeney. Both of these talented designers mingled with guests to celebrate the launch. Their labels, along with the latest Starfish pieces, have created an atmosphere instore that is bright, balanced and attractive.

The Body Shop make-up artists were on hand to give customers samples of Karen Murrell lipstick and The Body Shop products.

Guests are embracing colour. You can tell what people have been trying on when you see the racks outside the changing rooms.

A colourful jewellery tree.

Gentleman guests loving the Amisfield vino – both work for Wellington Fashion Week.

Shoes by Kathryn Wilson and Miista.

New season garments were selling like hotcakes. Stylists were busy at the counter.

Greta Menzies print is popular. Here it is on the dancers’ faces.

Laurie Foon is one of the busiest (and fun) fashion designers I have followed around a store – its very hard to get grab her for a photo. Here she is (below left) with a friend.
