For an island nation surrounded by beautiful beaches, you’d think New Zealand would have scores of great swimwear fashion labels, but the one that stands out to me as head and (one) shoulders above them all, is the local brand that was started 36 years ago here in Auckland. Not only do the swimsuits look stylish, and they have nice quality fabrics in great prints; the fit on the body is world class and the swimwear cut is beautifully constructed. I like their statement, “We realise that for most women, swimwear is the least amount of clothing they will be seen wearing in public, therefore fit is paramount.”

A BIKINI A DAY
I think this summer is going to be a whole lot different after attending NZFW ‘SWIM’, a runway event showcasing Moontide at NZFW on Sunday.
It was my first time attending a swimwear show at New Zealand Fashion Weekend. Whoever thought that swimwear would become so fashionable and flattering? It’s made me realise that one pieces and high-waisted swimwear are a great option. Moontide had a strong impact on me – especially as someone with curves – wanting something that can flatter my body. I really liked the colours and graphic prints, and I especially appreciated how the swimwear is designed to enhance and complement each of the models’ bodies. The pieces also look very full-bust appropriate.
I am so glad that swimwear is now readily available for all body types, and Moontide has definitely achieved that. You can shop their latest collection and find stockists, online at www.moontide.com
