Supermodel Andreja Pejic opened The Show at Smith & Caughey’s department store in Auckland for their first ever runway show, set on the ground floor, and cleverly utilising the escalators as a dramatic entry point.

Other famous faces in The Show included Danielle Hayes, winner of New Zealand’s Next Top Model, and Ashleigh Good, who appeared with her adorable toddler (in grey coat below) and pregnant with her second. Her brother also walked in the show.

Australian model Andreja Pejic, born in Yugoslavia in 1991, is the world’s most recognised trans model, and the first trans woman to land a cosmetics contract.

After the show, guests were hosted upstairs for Champagne and canapes, with Andreja Pejic interviewed by fabulous New Zealand actress, Antonia Pebble. Andreja was so eloquent and inspiring on her journey as a trans woman. She was also hilarious, joking that her next career move is to land a Hollywood Husband. Interestingly, her first editorial shoot was for a New Zealand magazine; BLACK magazine.
