Day 3 Highlights of NZ Fashion Week 2018

Here are a few of my Day 3 Highlights of New Zealand Fashion Week 2018, held at Viaduct Events Centre Auckland from 27th to 31st August. You can follow on my Instagram at @threadnz.

Day 3 NZFW Wednesday 29th August 2018

Hair did! Hair by Min at Pony Professionnnel. What I wore today: grey leather jacket by Lonely Hearts, skirt by All Saints Spitalfields, top by Issey Miyake, navy leather boots by Mi Piaci.

NEW GEN SHOW

My favourite show at New Gen was Starving Artists Fund with their sculptural shapes and original designs in gender neutral pieces.

KIRI NATHAN

Another favourite show of the while week for me was by Kiri Nathan, who received a standing ovation for bringing her stunning designs with Maori heritage and inspiration, on the catwalk.

The coolest goodybag – all Maori brands including this Pipi Ma talking doll that speaks phrases in Te Reo.

HEJ HEJ

Hej Hej linen wear shown on a yacht moored next to the Vaduct Events centre. Such a cool idea to showcase resortwear (not very AW19 though?) and so nautical. We all had to remove our shoes and were given Oh Hej! towelling slippers to wear and keep.

STOLEN GIRLFRIENDS CLUB

New Sincerity/Deep Irony is inspired by the book The Others by Derek Ridgers who
photographed the club-kids around London in the 1980’s. The look of the time was a mash-up of thrift store finds from different era’s and styles which created a look referencing punk, glam, new romantic, mod and military all at once.
