MAC makeup at Stolen Girlfriends Club at NZ Fashion Week 2015

Stolen Girlfriends Club always bring the party.

Their ten years anniversary shindig at the historic and newly-reopened St James theatre was no different. From the time we walked up to the Lorne Street entrance amongst Stolen branded Uber Mini cars shuttling guests to the venue, it had a cool vibe in the air and the bar was heaving inside, packed to the rafters with friends and media enjoying Kronenbourg 1664 beer and drinks inside.

The interesting twist they had to the show was having  media and VIP guests sit on the actual stage – becoming part of ‘the show’ as it were, and the audience in the main auditorium below, and models walk from backstage on the stage and then down the T-staging towards the audience.

A highlight was one model, in 1970s flares and band tee-shirt, pause at the end of the T and then raise her arms above her head and stage dive into the crowd! Luckily she missed the front row of cameras and dived over them into the arms of the audience, who put her back onto the stage, to much applause.

At the end of the show – a collection of metal tees, furry coats, tight denim and cool as f**k kids – all the models walked on stage with their backs turned to the audience. They turned around and BANG! A confetti canon went off, sprayed pink paper confetti onto the models as they walked the finale to cheers.

Happy tenth anniversary Stolen Girlfriends Club and here’s to many happy returns.
