New Zealand’s most iconic fashion maven, and Founder of New Zealand Fashion Week, Dame Pieter Stewart, officially celebrated 20 years of contribution to the wider fashion industry at a special industry event on 1st September at John Andrew Ford showroom in Auckland. Dame Pieter Stewart and her daughter and Brand Partnership Specialist, Myken Stewart, invited guests to celebrate all of the fashion industry’s milestones over the past two decades.
Both Dame Pieter and Myken acknowledge there is no I in event and over twenty years, many people from all parts of the industry worked together to create New Zealand’s thriving fashion scene.
Faces and personalities that made the last 20 years happen, came together in person as well as on an audio visual montage of some of the best moments, while enjoying tunes from DJs Phoebe Falconer and Dylan C.
The event was supported by a range of local brands and businesses including Mint Kitchen Catering, Major Major, Red Bull NZ, Good Sh*t, iSecurity NZ, Kristen Stewart Make Up, Dancing Water, Servilles, Steinlager Ultra, Food Nation and Ford New Zealand.
For fun I brought along my historic Air New Zealand NZ Fashion Week bag to the 20 year celebration.
Wearing: I’m wearing NZ fashion, of course! I’m in a black lace dress by Trelise Cooper and RIP my black strappy shoes that broke on the way back to the car. At least they had a great last night out, it’s what they would’ve wanted.
