For New Year’s Eve 2020 I headed up to beautiful Ascension Winery in Matakana to ring in the new year with music, fireworks, dancing and wine, at the fabulous HIGHLIFE New Year’s party. It was just incredible.
With gates open from 3pm until 1am, it was good to arrive early and make a day – and night – of it. Headline acts The Black Seeds, The Cube Guys, and David Puentez, were joined by numerous acts and DJs both on the main stage and the VIP area stage.

The VIP area set in the Spanish style buildings of the winery. Makeup and glitter in sponsor tents for guests added to the festival atmosphere. The Black Seeds were a big hit with the crowd. A much loved New Zealand crowd-pleaser and great weather to boot made for an awesome afternoon in the sun.
