LIVE at the Museum: Reb Fountain and LOU’ANA
MONDAY 31 MAY
GRAND FOYER, AUCKLAND MUSEUM

Heavyweights of Aotearoa’s homegrown music scene came together for an evening of musical magic when the voices of Reb Fountain and LOU’ANA fill the Grand Foyer in two mesmerising performances, from noir folk to funk and soul.
Reb Fountain
Reb Fountain released her self-titled album through iconic New Zealand label Flying Nun during lockdown in 2020; connecting the hearts of the nation with her critically acclaimed record and a sold-out album release tour.
The award-winning songwriter was born in San Francisco and immigrated with her family from North America to Lyttelton. Fountain’s album was recorded at Neil Finn’s (Crowded House, Fleetwood Mac) own Roundhead Studios. Simon Gooding (Ed Sheeran, P!nk, Migos, Dua Lipa) took the helm for their 3-week stint of recording and mixing alongside supporting stalwart musical director and accomplished musician Dave Khan with production. Simon won best engineer for Reb’s album at the Aotearoa Music Awards 2020.
LOU’ANA
LOU’ANA is a Tāmaki Makaurau-based artist with her seven-piece band, serving up Soul Funk grooves with a dose of Magick.
Moonlight Madness, LOU’ANA’s recently released debut album infuses her trademark funk, jazz and soul with a hint of her pacific roots to create Mystic Soul Music. The eclectic, free-spirited sound of three-time Pacific Music Awards finalist LOU’ANA is one of unparalleled magic. Mike Alexander of Music Net Album Review says “Rarely, in New Zealand, does a singer come along whose voice is so big, so beautiful and so luminous it contains worlds within worlds”. LOU’ANA and her seven-piece band have transformed the album into an epic, energetic live experience and the show is now on the road following an exciting festival season with sets at Nest Fest, Earth Beat, Splore 2021 and NZ Spirit Festival.
