New season, and new scents are appearing – so I’ve done a photoshoot of a few of the beautiful new perfumes available this Spring in this week’s ON MY DESK.
New fragrances for Spring 2015 include new releases from some iconic greats: Britney Spears Fantasy Intimate Edition, I Am Juicy Couture, Trilogy Raha perfume, Elizabeth Arden Always Red, and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Bamboo EDT and Green Tea Bamboo Honey Drops Body Cream.
Britney Spears Fantasy Intimate Edition
It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since America’s pop princess Britney Spears released the top-selling fragrance Fantasy. This year she has a sensual version hit shelves called Intimate Edition which echoes the name of her sleepwear collection, ‘The Intimate Britney Spears’. Following on from the sleepwear collection the bottle has been designed to reflect lingerie with a white bottle with crystals in pink and a rose gold collar with lace detailing on the packaging echoing sleepwear also. Available at Farmers and selected pharmacies and department stores from 24th August retailing at $45 for 30ml spray, $59 for 50ml and $79 for 100ml.
I Am Juicy Couture
The lid mirrors the original bottle lid turned upside down and you’ll turn heads too (I love a good pun) wearing this fruity fragrance! Their new face of the brand is gorgeous Namibia-born supermodel Behati Prinsloo to embody their Juicy It girl with a luxurious sense of style that is their totally their brand. The campaign depicts Behati gathering flowers and extracting the juice with her bare hands creating a perfume that is unique. It has top notes of raspberry, pomelo and passionfruit and a heart of gardenia, heliotrope, rose de mai and sweet peas, and a base of soft musks, warm woods and amber. It is available from 7th August 2015 retailing at $110 for 30mo EDP spray, $145 for 50ml and $195 for 100ml.
Trilogy Raha perfume
This is a perfume with a difference, from New Zealand skincare and beauty brand Trilogy. Raha, meaning joy in Swahili, is their second fragrance, following Jua which they launched last year. Once again, it benefits charities run by So They Can to educate and empower communities in Kenya and Tanzania. I like the pulse-point roll-on applicator, and especially love the patterned design on the glass vial and the brown cardboard case. The scent is citrus and green galbanum with a heart of blue iris and a base of vanilla and spice. This would make a lovely gift at $24.95 and $2 from each sale goes to the charity. Elizabeth Arden Always Red
Modelled of course after the famous red door on their iconic Fifth Avenue headquarters in New York, Elizabeth Arden’s latest incarnation of Red Door fragrances is the bold and beautiful Always Red. Described as a luxurious floriental, has top notes of vibrant blood orange, luscious red plum and passion fruit; mid notes of jasmine sambac, pink freesia and velvet rose petals; and a base of red amber, praline, and mahogany woods. Always Red is on counter in New Zealand from 14th September 2015 retailing at $59 for 30ml EFT spray, $89 for 50ml, and $109 for 100ml.
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Bamboo EDT and Green Tea Bamboo Honey Drops Body Cream
I think this is the most uplifting and refreshing of the scents reviewed here; it has a citrus fragrance I’d describe as green, like walking through a grove of trees after rain. The top notes are sparkling lemon, bergamot, grapefruit, bamboo scent trek, tamarind tree leaves, and galbanum, with middle notes of green tea accord, violet leaves, cucumber, and syringa scent trek, and base notes of soft musk, white birch, lentisque resin, moss, Italian orris, and mate. This body cream is so good. I even managed to get some on the husband! When you first apply it is has visible honey drops which instantly absorb into the skin, pictured below. The body cream is $52 for 250ml, the EDT spray $52 for 50ml and $73 for 100ml, available now at Elizabeth Arden stockists. www.elizabetharden.co.nz
