ON MY DESK what’s new for Spring 2015 in fashion and beauty new releases…
RAY-BAN CLUBMASTER WOOD
Thanks Ray-Ban for my new Clubmaster Wood! I adore the new wooden frames on this iconic classic style! For the first time ever, Ray-Ban is making its popular fave the Clubmaster, in real wooden frames. This model is available in three different kinds of wood: walnut, maple and cherry, in both sunglasses and prescription lenses. I really appreciate the return to more ‘heritage’ materials, as a welcome throwback to earlier times and a contrast to all the hi tech around us. The wood is beautifully-made and attached and looks and feels really high quality. Try these on – you’ll love them!
LUSH HALLOWEEN
LUSH Halloween collection has fresh handmade soaps and shower gels including my personal faves: this Sparkly Pumpkin, which sells for $9.50, and Nightwing Shower Jelly ($8.50) – a gooey ‘solid jelly’ that pops out of the tin shaped like a bat! Available at LUSH stores 21-31 October 2015. The inflatable scary cat is available at The Warehouse (www.thewarehouse.co.nz)
LINDEN LEAVES SUMMER
Linden Leaves SUMMER gift cracker is a real cracker of a gift! The pretty cardboard tube tied with branded ribbons has a lip balm and hand cream inside; a perfect present for someone this summer and it retails for only $14.99. Other gift sets from Linden Leaves include Summer Soap and Hand Cream set ($14.99), Summer Flowing Soap and Lotion set ($34.95), Summer Hand Cream selection of 3 x 25ml ($19.99), and Summer Body Scrub and Butter set ($29.99), all available at stockists nationwide and www.lindenleaves.com
INIKA LIPSTICKS
For those looking for a truly organic, vegan lipstick, INIKA have released their new and improved lipsticks in 8 shades at $43 each including Orchid Fields and Naked Kiss pictured. The new range, which covers the popular shades of red, pink and nudes and a deep matte shade ‘After Dark’, contain certified organic argan, avocado and jojoba seed oils as well as Vitamin E and shea butter to hydrate. For stockists see www.inika.co.nz
L’OREAL PARIS BUTTERFLY WINGS
L’Oreal Paris has released its popular False Lash Butterfly Wings mascara with an intense matte-black Butterfly Wings Intenza mascara ($25.99). It fans out lashes for a volumising effect. Also, L’Oreal Paris continues the smoky eye trend and makes it easy, with the Super Liner Smokissime pens. The eyeliner powder-pens have these handy soft tips to blend a no-brainer smoky eye in black, taupe, or brown, for $22.99. Also out this month is the new Brow Artist Genius Kit; a powder and a pigmented wax with mini tweezers and a mini brush. I found the powder good but the brush too small to use easily, so do use your own eyebrow brush I think. Available at Farmers, selected pharmacies and department stores from October 2015.

GO SUPERFOODS
Mmm I’m a big beetroot fan and this is a pure organic form and an easy way to add it to smoothies, in a powder. Beetroot detoxifies the blood, and is rich in antioxidants and nutrients. For stockists see gohealthy.co.nz
LIFESTREAM PROTEIN
Speaking of healthy smoothies, if you need a bit off added protein as your diet isn’t quite cutting it and you’ve been so busy, try a protein smoothie for breakfast – I’ve added bananas, frozen mixed berries, and milk to mine but for my son, I do almond milk. A ‘berry’ nice start to the day!
