Here are some new beauty releases to come across my path in the month of April, in the latest On My Desk: What’s New in Beauty column for April 2018.
Fur Hair Removal Range, straight from New York, answers a call for all-natural hair removal that looks as gorgeous as it feels. The Fur range, which is gynaecologically and dermatologically tested, is now in New Zealand and includes Fur Signature Oil, Stubble Cream and Fur Concentrate. The range of products prevent ingrown hairs, sooth, hydrate and rejuvenate and are ideal for after waxing or IPL. Fur is 100% natural, vegan, contains no parabens and is popular not only for its natural formulation but its efficacy – not to mention it’s very attractive to boot. Apparently Emma Watson is a fan. Fur was launched in New York two years ago and is Clean Beauty, stocked in Nordstrom, credo, goop, violet grey, revolve, Hudson’s Bay, Harvey Nichols and free people, as well as in beauty spas as therapists appreciate it is free of harsh acids and cortisones and clients are raving about it. I’ll be personally trying it out this week, so I’ll let you know what I think!
No this is isn’t wine before you ask; it’s legit peppermint tea but when I photographed it I realised it looks like wine. I’m just paranoid after my daughter hung out of the window yelling at the top of her lungs “mum I see you drinking alcohol” when I had one very well deserved glass after running a kids craft party with five children. Anyhow, the day peaked with the arrival of these beautiful Ultraceuticals skincare faves of mine; Ultra B Skin Hydrating Serum, Ultra A Skin Perfecting Serum, and AntiOx+ Complex. I can’t get enough of these miracle workers. Or peppermint tea.
Iconic French fashion house Balmain has collaborated with French cosmetics giant L’Oréal Paris and released a range of lipsticks bearing the Balmain Paris brand including these contemporary colours; Power, Instinct, and Freedom. Pierre Balmain trained alongside his friend Christian Dior and he later had Karl Lagerfeld as an apprentice. In stores now and I see Farmers has them on sale for around $22.
Living Nature Ultimate Day Oil; a luxurious blend of organic oils to aid damaged skin and repair tissue with evening primrose, calendula and lavender oils. Available at Livingnature.com
All you need is LOVE….LOVE by Davines is sustainable, Italian made eco friendly and cruelty-free hair care, only at salons.
This week is New Zealand’s first ever Organic Week and I’m celebrating it with natural, organic, products such as Plantae Skincare and Perky Petal tea by The Hollow of Nelson.
Celebrate your super mum with one of these gorgeous LUSH Mother’s Day releases; I particularly like the bath bomb in a cape! There’s a theme of superhero mothers this year which I fully endorse. All mums are superheroes in my eyes. As always, LUSH products use recycled packaging or no packaging at all, and are always cruelty-free. Pictured: Purple Loosestrife $12.90; 3 Marbled Bubbleroons in Purple Dawn, Mother of Pearl and Citrus Are Doing It For Themselves, all $10.50 each; Lemon Zest $12.90; Madame President $9.90; Mum Look What I Made For You $8.90; Honey Bear $12.50; Rosebud $11.50; Mum In A Spin $12.90; and Incredible Mum $8.90. Available at LUSH stores and online at LUSH.
Support your natural defences with probiotics, in Superstart Probiotic Cleanser Whip To Clay – a whipped mousse cleanser that transforms to a mineral-rich clay to clean your face without stripping it.
I am personally a huge fan of SUPERSTART Skin Renewal Booster and have gone through 3 of them now so I am excited to see that the new Probiotic Boost Skin Renewal Biocellulose Mask has twice the probiotic power of Skin Renewal Booster. This mask infuses skin with a concentrated formula including hyaluronic acid and probiotics to renew skin for a radiant glow.
