What stresses me out

If you know me, you’ll know I’m pretty calm (except when pregnant. Or running late. Actually I’m calmest when asleep) and stress-free. But there are just certain situations that get the better of me, and they seem to multiply once I’m stressed rather than subside. Of course, aside from the mental strain, I don’t want anyone else to know I’m stressing and telltale signs such as perspiration are nobody’s best friend (that’s diamonds if you’re Marilyn Monroe, dogs if you love animals, and cats if you spend anytime on the Internet.)

So, you ask, what stresses me out? I took my camera phone around for the past week to share with you some of the little things that to me are actually Dante’s nine circles of hell.

Don’t sweat the small stuff, just…

When children paint their entire bodies instead of the paper.

When cats sleep on your clean laundry.

When people leave the lids off felt tip pens. I’m not kidding, this does my head in. PUT THE LIDS BACK ON, PEOPLE.

When the new ark toy doesn’t come with any female lions.

When well-intentioned, or perhaps not, people give you loud musical instruments that only seem to be played early Sunday mornings.

When her little brother cuts the tail of My Little Pony.

When they’ve played hair salons and cut their own hair.

When your son tries to make a “milk shake” by putting a toy cow in the blender.

When you ask your daughter to draw and she does “evil Rapunzel”

So, how do I feel when I’m stressed out in situations such as these, when I need someone/thing to come to the rescue? You worry about sweating which leads to more stress and more sweat and basically a vicious circle. Well, I used to sweat it out. Now I have a NIVEA Stress Protect deodorant. It has a clinical strength protection anti-perspirant deodorant that actually works. It is the strongest one I’ve ever tried; it goes on very dry without being chalky or leaving a white residue on my (mainly black) clothes which is important to me. It protects from odour and wetness from thermal sweating and emotionally stressful sweating. It is formulated with a zinc complex to neutralise odour and has a nice fresh fragrance. I’m wearing it right now, and am packing it for Melbourne in the morning (another thing I need to still do that will stress me out) and you check out their NIVEA Facebook page here.
