Butterfly Smokescreen: Immersive Theatre Murder Mystery on a Superyacht

I’ve never done anything like it. On Friday night I headed to Auckland Viaduct in full 1920s costume to attend the @butterfly_smokescreen immersive theatre, held on a boat (formerly Graeme Hart’s) moored at the Auckland marina.

Immersive theatre is where the actors are walking all around you rather than you seated watching a show. You actually got to walk up and down the stairs and into bedrooms with the story unfolding before your eyes culminating in the 1920s murder of Thomas Ince. Based on a true life story of his never solved murder, you can decide whodunnit!

It was so much fun and something really different and perfect to do with a bunch of friends as it’s entertaining all evening. Read more about Butterfly Smokescreen by The Barden Party here
and book tickets to attend on Eventfinda here

The year is 1924. Famed Hollywood producer, Thomas Ince has been invited aboard newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst’s prized yacht. It is Ince’s 42nd birthday. His guests? Film royalty Charlie Chaplin, Marion Davies … and you. In only a few hours, Ince will be dead and the tabloid world will be set ablaze with tales of scandal and intrigue.
Step aboard the luxury 100ft super yacht, Sea Breeze III in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour, for the exclusive world premiere of ‘Butterfly Smokescreen’. It promises a night of champagne, thrills, seduction, extravagance and temptation that will transport you to the roaring 20s, leaving you breathless.
