Darkblack is the boutique jewellery label created by Dunedin born jewellery designer, Jade Muirhead. Her pieces are hand forged in silver and gemstones and very individual.
Muirhead describes her collection as "Subversive and elegant."
Wearable elegance is one of Darkblack’s core themes. Each piece is handmade from precious metals – predominantly sterling silver – and has an edgy feel to it. Semi-precious stones and crystals are perfect set to create the illusion that they are floating in metal.
The summer collection has a heavy industrial look; Muirhead has experimented with rough finishes to create shadow and contrast.
Darkblack is gaining a strong following with her collections being stocked in high-end stores nationwide. The range is available at Carlson stores in Ponsonby, Wellington and Dunedin, House of Hedone in High Street Auckland, and Rouche in Merivale Mall Christchurch.
