Inside the Tesseract, looking for Mrs Whatsit! Just been to Disney A Wrinkle In Time premiere and loved it. Stunning visually, with lush sets and costuming and outstanding performances by the children as well as Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon. A lovely heart-warming message. Suitable for kids over 8 I think, due to scary scenes. Opens in NZ on Thursday nationwide.

At Swisse Beauty Inside and Out media beauty breakfast

Beautiful table settings and flowers at an informative and relaxing Swisse Beauty Inside and Out media beauty breakfast. Up at Amano private room, beauty media were treated to a meditation session and a delicious healthy breakfast followed by a Q&A from Swisse medical scientists and nutritional experts about the formulations of their popular skincare and supplements. I was not aware of how HUGE Swisse was here now, it is such a market leader in the New Zealand market. It was interesting hearing from their experts about how to use and combine the various skincare and supplements to their best result, for instance, using Hair Skin and Nails capsules along with a topically-applied facial cream for improved skin texture and radiance. They’re also easy to find, at pharmacies and Countdown, making it affordable and accessible to all.

Had a fabulous fun night dining in complete darkness at Sacred Hill Wines dinner in the dark at Rydges hotel. You are guided into a pitch black room and have 3 courses with wine and the waitstaff are visually impaired. What an experience.

At Fitbit versa launch today with Art Green

At Fitbit versa launch today with Art Green. Art is the ambassador here for Fitbit and is modeling the Versa right now. He was telling me how he’s been busy launching his new food line of prepared meals for busy people who want healthy meals. I told him he’ll be saving time by letting his beard grow and not having to shave so much.

Yummy healthy platters by Together.nz at today's Fitbit media launch of Fitbit Versa

How incredible does this look?! Yummy healthy platters by Together.nz at today’s Fitbit media launch of Fitbit Versa. The latest release from Fitbit is the Versa, an all-day health and fitness watch that has some exciting new features. What stuck out to me, was the 4-day battery life which means you can sleep in it without charging it so often, and the period mapping of your cycle to see correlations with your sleep patterns and exercise achievements at different times of the month. Before lunch we heard fascinating talks from nutritionalist Claire Turnwald, and Mission Nutrition, and what really hit home to me, was the importance of sleep as a key foundation to everything else. If you want to improve your fitness, weight, and eating, get your sleep right. The Versa monitors your REM with sleep tracking and motivates you by day with personalised on screen workouts, and music, and recognises 15 exercise modes. For lifestyle convenience it has wallet-free payments and I especially liked the stylish strap options, of a charcoal or lavender woven band special edition. The Versa, which retails at $249.99 here, has an updated operating system and a new dashboard since the Ionic, which I’m wearing in the photo above.

It's SO NICE to feel appreciated! I got a lovely bouquet of flowers and card from the school Principal for my gardening at the weekend beautifying the school grounds with cuttings and succulents from my own garden. Luckily got them in before the storm and they survived. We don't often show gratitude well in our culture, and so it's neat that the Principal is modeling this for the kids.

This is not just any old concrete – or is it? Envirocon is a cool Kiwi business creating construction material from some of the 260,000 tonnes of concrete waste, that would otherwise go to landfill. @xero is helping Envirocon grow and brought a class of local schoolchildren to learn about and decorate these walls with messages of sustainability. I went down to Wynyard Quarter to have a go! You can also make your mark this weekend before they are donated to local schools as permanent displays

Federal Street Festival at SKYCITY Screen Shot 2018-04-20 at 10.45.04 am

On Friday night we headed in to the Federal Street Festival at SKYCITY with the road closed for a night of music from local bands and artists under fairy lights. Huawei P20 hosted us in a VIP Lounge in Chinese restaurant Huami at SKYCITY with delicious food and drinks as we watched the bands, my favourite of which was Kings, pictured above.

molemap

What I wore today: hospital chic, in a fetching blue gown at NorthMed Akoranga Drive for a MoleMap. I’m a melanoma survivor so I think it’s so important to get our skin checked. They found a melanoma at my last MoleMap appointment, actually. Today I got photographed and a report will be emailed to me with photos and any concerns. They found and photographed 3 new moles that had appeared since last time. MoleMap.co.nz hosted me to spread the word about checkups to help prevent melanoma. UPDATE: I got the all-clear!

See you next week xx
