The week on Thread Episode 18 covers highlights of my week in photos, including fashion and food. If you’d like to follow me up-to-the-minute on Instagram, it’s at @ThreadNZ
First up, I thought I’d share with you what my workstation looks like. It always has tea and I’m trying to drink more water everyday from my Brita carafe. The illustrations are by Kelly Thompson.
As you’ll know if you’ve been following me on social media or have a general interest in local fashion events, this week has been crazy-busy with Marr Factory fashion shows and I went to Karen Walker, Nom*D, Zambesi, and have Kate Sylvester tonight. Read about the MAC makeup looks on Thread.co.nz here: Karen Walker at Marr Factory, Nom*D at Marr Factory, and Zambesi at Marr Factory.
Below: I like to wear the label to their show wherever possible so here I’m wearing Karen Walker dress, Highnoontea blazer, Dr Martens boots from Platypus, and triangle print leggings from Kowtow.
NomD always do the best socks in their Marr Factory goody bag each year! Also Sans lip aid, R+Co thickening spray, and a mini Bombay Sapphire.
Woah these are insanely cool! Disney Vans with Minnie Mouse! My daughter is going to go crazy when she sees these. If these don’t make you wanna be a kid again I don’t know what will. There’s loads of Disney characters on classic Vans shoes and you can follow the action on social media via their hashtag, #disneyandvans
I headed in to the studio space at 230 Ponsonby Road to view the Spring Summer 15/16 Farmers collections, and was interested to hear that everything on display there, would be sold online – Farmers is really ramping up their Internet shopping side and has Internet ONLY labels (one of which is a basics line of clothing all under $15) as well as maternity, and plus-size fashion. Their social media side is also expanding greatly and their hashtag is “found it at Farmers” and customers who hashtag that have their (first vetted) posts go on the Farmers website feed.
Afternoon tea with beautiful treats from today’s Farmers goodybag- cupcake, Essie, Whittaker’s chocolate and a voucher to go shopping with!
I’ve discovered the happy time of day when salons switch from serving coffee to serving wine. I enjoyed a hot towel hair treatment at Morgan and Morgan Takapuna, with Redken products.
Next up, a couple of food photos…I’ve been making daily berry, banana and spinach smoothies in the Nutribullet and adding the spirulina superfood Lifestream Essential Green sachets in too for extra antioxidants.
We went over to friends and she cooked amazing Japanese nabe which is steamed chicken and vegetables and noodles in a broth. It was incredible and so healthy, too.
Less healthy but extremely decadent and delicious was a delivery of Magnum Americana icecreams in peanut butter and cookie.
The Magnum Americana pamper pack basket arrived with a beautiful throw, and fashion magazines, and a Netflix subscription from Magnum. I’ll be snuggling up and enjoying peanut butter and chocolate cookie crumble treats tonight!
