The Week on Thread Episode 30

The Week on Thread Episode 30, featuring highlights of my week in pictures including fashion, food and beauty, including meeting pyjama king Peter Alexander, Ben & Jerry’s icecream cafe opening in Ponsonby, BLAZE Hair, Star Wars The Force Awakens premiere, and ASB Bank Santa’s Bach at Silo Park. Check it out here…

BLAZE HAIR

BLAZE HAIR

In readiment for a H U G E day ahead, I headed (excuse the pun) into Blaze salon on Broadway Newmarket for my Showpony extensions in with the lovely Kelly Manu who is the best I’ve had at putting them in. Pictured above: Hair did, at Blaze. I’m wearing jumpsuit by @coreylynncalter, handbag by MIMCO, watch by @christianpaulwatches

PETER ALEXANDER

I met pyjama king Peter Alexander in his Westfield 277 Newmarket store on his whirlwind smile-and-selfie tour of the country! He was super charming as always and had a funny anecdote about the male models in the bed the last time I met him, up the Skytower.

BEN & JERRY'S

BEN & JERRY’S

Ben & Jerry’s icecream is in New Zealand! 10/10 giant cows recommend Ben & Jerry’s. The famous USA icecream cafe opened in Ponsonby, Auckland, on Wednesday night next to SPQR and there have been reports of queues out the door ever since. I love the chunky caramel one, but they’re all amazing.

STAR WARS

The highlight of the film week was the incredibly highly anticipated Star Wars The Force Awakens film. I was lucky enough to be invited to the New Zealand red carpet premiere in Sylvia Park and it was one of the year’s best film premiere parties, with the huge effort they’d gone to, from walking through a wall of smoke with STAR WARS projected on it into a party with wookies, droids, and rebel fighters, a Sileni Wines bar, and a medal to keep and Star Wars goody bag for every guest. Go see it in cinemas everyone!

SANTA’S BACH

I’m beside my elf with excitement at @asbbank Santa’s Bach at Silo Park! I took the family through tonight and highly recommend the free public short show where you meet and interact with Mrs Claus, Santa, and merry elves and receive personalised treats and a family video. Take a gift for Auckland City Mission kids in need. Read more and the hours, at Christmas events for kids on Thread here.

ASB billboards

Above: these beanbags made from old ASB billboards were a cool idea too.

Giapo Ice-cream

GIAPO

I’m delighted to be a Giapo Ice-cream Ambassador to try flavours and Instagram them to share with readers. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. This Organic Strawberries & Cream ice-cream topped with a fresh strawberry and almonds was seriously amazing; rich and full of fresh strawberry taste. Go try it now, up from the Civic theatre on Queen Street, and follow them on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/giapokitchen/
