A new lifestyle entertainment show, Kiwi Living, begins this Friday and by coincidence, I know the woman – a local Mum and blogger Melissa Peaks – who happens to be on the first episode, so I chatted to her about it. The series covers food, travel, living spaces, health and well-being, fashion and gardening and a key sponsor is Southern Cross hence the healthy lifestyle focus.
Each week, hosts Miriama Kamo and chef Michael Van de Elzen will be joined by a team of well known personalities including fitness expert Lee-Anne Wann, fashion stylist Luke Bettesworth, Matt Gibb on New Zealand travel and inspirational homes, Erin Simpson on interior design; and Tony Murrell will present gardening stories.
Thread chatted to the lovely Melissa Peaks from blog Melissa Loses It (a pun on her dramatic weightloss of 70 kilos from gastric bypass surgery approximately a year ago.)
Below: Her before and after photos.
“I saw a post on Facebook by Mums on Top saying that a new TV show needed busy mums for makeovers and to email them if you were interested.” she says. “I sent an email and casually included that I had lost 70kgs and unsurprisingly they picked me.”
“They came over first and we talked about my weight loss a bit and how it’s impacted on my clothing choices and had a look at some things I used to wear. Then we went shopping in Newmarket.”
“I had my hair done at Dry and Tea and my makeup done at Bobbi Brown and off we went to the studio to put it all together.”
“Luke Bettesworth, the fashion stylist, was so much fun to work with and has an amazing vision and instant knowledge of how to dress you for the best impact.”
