Why I love my Fitbit

I don’t want to go all Crossfit/vegan talk-a-lot about it, but I am so excited about wearing a Fitbit! I’ve done 4,140 steps while working. My Charge HR model in black – of course, so fashion – arrived in time for my Easter hot cross bun consumption. The next day, I walked 6kms in my new heels according to my Fitbit which I wouldn’t normally recommend. It’s great being able to see your steps and stairs climbed, a la the old-school pedometers, but also your heart-rate, without having to wear an uncomfortable chest strap heart monitoring device. This picks up your heart rate from being worn on the wrist just like a watch. The only weird thing is that when your phone rings, your Fitbit vibrates and displays the person’s name!

It also tracks calories burned, workout intensity, and tells the time so you don’t have to wear a watch as well. It has a battery life of five days so basically ten times longer than my iPhone has, and is under warranty for a year. It works off Bluetooth wireless technology and is linked with your mobile.

It sends you award certificates by email which actually got me feeling quite a sense of accomplishment! I can see now why all the certificates I make for my children’s good behaviour work; there’s nothing like getting an award to make you feel proud of yourself.

It sends weekly updates in a chart too so you can follow your progress over the week.
