I Love Ugly has opened its fourth store, a flagship menswear store in Osborne Street, Newmarket. Thread headed in to check it out for a tour with Creative Director and Founder, Valentin Ozich.

Valentin’s partner Eleanor is behind healthy and gluten-free catering company Petite Kitchen who made all the food for the launch media breakfast. I can vouch for the deliciousness of the berry yoghurt nut crumble. What a creative couple.

Marketing Manager Tom Lawson was on hand to show us around the new store, which follows their first Mt Eden shop, The Department Store in Takapuna, and Wellington, as the fourth site for I Love Ugly. At the Newmarket location, they have really put their stamp and unleashed their unique style on its fit-out with a quirkly interior design that includes retro Playboy posters in fitting rooms, cheeky quotes in white marker pen on mirrors, and a vintage football table, with memorabilia lining the walls.

The menswear has streetwear looks of five-panel caps and teeshirts as their more recognisable offerings, alongside more grown-up fare with shirts, trousers and jackets, and men’s accessories. Check out the new store at 2-8 Osborne Street in Newmarket Auckland.
