We try: Dermalogica PowerBright Trio

In this latest ‘We try’ column, I’m trialling the new Dermalogica PowerBright Trio skincare release which targets dark spots, hyperpigmentation and UV damage. This range replaces their previous ChromaWhite TRx range and consists of three products to span your day: a day cream, a night cream, and a serum you may layer under both. With great serendipity it arrived just as my SPF day cream ran out, and I am so excited to get my hands on the PowerBright day moisturiser particularly, as a sunscreen in my morning routine is a definite ritual with me. I’ll also be trying the night cream and serum under the two.

Chic packaging

The products are in the white and grey Dermalogica signature branding, which at first glance is sleek and chic and contemporary. Under the grey cap lids, are manual pumps that I found disperse just the right amount for an application in each pump – two for day cream, as I use more of that. I’ve been covering beyond my face and down the neck and upper chest as well for protection against summer sun exposure.

PureBright Ingredients

The active ingredients are a combination of peptides, rice-derived Phytic Acid, Zinc Glycinate, and algae. They fight melanin production (making dark spots) with Oligopeptide-51 and 34, along with potent botanicals. I really think that Dermalogica is famed for using natural botanicals alongside technology in its powerful combination of the best of nature, with the latest developments in skincare science.

Pricing

They are in the medium-high price point range – above pharmacy but below luxury department store level – retailing for $166.50 for C-12 Pure Bright Serum, $113 Pure Light SPF50, and $136.50 for Pure Night. There’s also a travel kit of minis retailing for $73 which is the perfect way to trial it over the holidays.
