Highlights around Tokyo in pictures

So in May of this year, I packed – very lightly, I might add, as, surprisingly for someone with four wardrobes and a predilection for hoarding, I only take one pair of shoes extra to what I wear on the plane, and a tiny toiletries bag of sample-sized skincare and two pairs of trousers – and set off for ten days to Japan with my friend Carly. We were ostensibly going to a Japanese friend’s wedding in Hokkaido but more than that, we were off on An Adventure. Sans children and husbands and carrying lists of recycle fashion stores and a desire to eat as much Japanese food as we can manage between us. Here then, are some photographs I took around Tokyo. The highlights I’m covering here we did in a period of two days, including Tokyo’s famous Meiji Shrine, the cool teen shopping arena of Takeshita Street, a flea market in Harajuku, and Ginza’s designer district; including the designer recycle shops (“Risaikuru Shoppu” in Japanese-English) Kindl and Ragtag.
