Models defied the longstanding belief that New Zealand fashion is all black, with a riotous burst of colour at last night’s COOPER by Trelise Cooper SS16/17 Theatre of Fashion show. The models even danced down the runway in the finale with smiles all around.
The Spring Summer COOPER collection – a more youthful, casual, and fun line from Trelise Cooper – showed before the Trelise Cooper line at the runway show in Q Theatre on Queen Street. The backdrop of gigantic inflatable flowers, like something out of Alice in Wonderland, broke social media as all the fashion journos and bloggers and VIP guests grammed the living daylights out of the runway.
Makeup was created by MAC cosmetics lead by Lockie Stonehouse, and hair was by Bettjemans lead by Sacha, using L’Oreal Professionnel.
Inspired for the COOPER collection drew from a trip to Italy with palazzo villas, seaside trattorias, blue and white striped loungers, roadside shrines of Madonnas, and the Amalfi Coast.
Models all wore sunglasses, covering up eye makeup which was revealed for the second half of the show, the Trelise Cooper line.
