It’s hard to think about wrapping up in the latest winter threads when the last sunny days of summer linger on.

It’s not even second blanket weather in Auckland yet but mid-April feels like I should be dusting off my winter coat for another season of coldness. Online retailer Boohoo’s new plus-size range is enough for me to want those winter months to roll in. They have added the plus size range to their already extensive line and offer a bright and exciting collection sizes 16-24 for curvaceous women.

This winter I won’t be hiding away in bulky clothing; I’m going to continue my love for bold patterns and block colours. This Boohoo Lisa Geographic Print – 3/4 Midi Bodycon dress ($50 and available up to size 24) is just the ticket to feeling confident with a hint of sexy. I love the print and the length is perfect sitting just above the knee (I’m 174cm). For a work day look I’d wear a chunky fabric scarf in a bright colour and a black blazer. This dress would also look great with loafers or high top sneakers for a more street casual outfit.

I’m obsessed with the green of this Boohoo Lucie Quilted Zip Through jacket; it is a little biker chick meets the Pink (or green in this case) Ladies. It works with with the pattern of the dress giving my outfit a little softness against the black and white print of my dress. This style of jacket will also work well with skinny jeans or jeggings, boots and a scarf to top off a casual winter look.

Bold patterns don’t need a lot of accessorising but I couldn’t resist a lion medallion around my neck.

If you aren’t use to wearing patterned clothes these style of leggings are a good way of adding a splash of colour to your outfit.

If you need plain leggings try the Addison Full Length Legging (pictured), they are soft fabric and are a good length.

And finally no winter wardrobe is complete without boots! I love ankle boots for winter. They are easy to wear under pants and work well with most dress or skirt length. These Boohoo Izzy Insert Pull On Boots feel good on and I love the thickness of the heel.
