This was a hair launch with a difference; at the launch of Wella Professionals Color Fresh, beauty media had to give our Alter Ego names, be collected by taxi, and get dressed up by fashion stylist Kylie Cooke!
To witness first hand how we can transform ourselves and unleash our alter ego in style, I travelled to an unknown destination awaiting heaven knows what.
Luckily, it was all extremely civilised upon arriving at Wella’s training offices in Auckland. With bubbles in hand, we heard all about the brand new Color Fresh ‘colour blow-dry’ from hair expert adn award-winning salon owner, Shar Sutherland Todd.
From August 2012, Wella salons can offer clients this new colour blow-dry that is like a temporary hair colour that gives hair high shne and condition so it’s perfect for in-between hair colour visits. It won’t replace your regular hair colour as it doesn’t colour roots; it gives a zhush to your colour in 20 shades that are all ammonia-free.
Below: Twin sister models Zoe and Augusta – with dark and light hair – show off the different colours available.
Augusta (below right) said she had dry, frizzy hair before the treatment. "It feels amazing now; so soft." Her twin sister said, "Oh, your hair feels like real hair, not like Barbie doll hair!"
"It’s an enhancer, like make-up for the hair" explained Shar Sutherland Todd. "It’s good for an event. It transforms the feel of yoru hair. It’s also ideal as a filler in between your salon colour visits."
After my colour blow dry.
You can do it at home yourself too, as it retails for only $23. The blow-dry price varies between salons. Call 0800 800128 for stockists and salons.
