When a brown cardboard box with nothing but the slogan, "Miracles Do Happen" arrived on my desk, I was intrigued. A box of miracles? Surely every woman needs that. Inside was this little miracle-worker; ELEVEN Australia Miracle Hair Treatment delivering eleven benefits to hair in one handy pump spray bottle. You spray it on damp hair and leave on, for frizz-control, detangling, UVA protection, and more. I used it; it’s great.
Schwarzkopf has released ‘Live Salon Mixing Colours’; the first home colour range to come with a colour mix. This means that in each box you get two colours to mix together to achieve a salon-like result of highlights and lowlights. Available from October 2012 from supermarkets, department stores and selected pharmacies for $17.99.
Davines make my shampoo and conditioner (Naturaltech) and now the Italian hair care company has released a shine oil. Hair oils are very in right now and this is enriched with roucou oil for softness and shine, and is suitable for all kinds of hair. Davines OI/Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion gives the effects of a ‘dry oil’ and reduces drying times for wet hair.
Head & Shoulders is the go-to brand for dandruff shampoos and they have released Ice Fresh Shampoo and Conditioner for a a cool refreshing wash. It contains 0.5% pyrithione zinc for an active anti-dandruff treatment that’s icy fresh. The shampoo and conditioner retail for just $6.12 each in stores nationwide.
Pure is a new natural haircare range out of Australia that’s free of parabens, sulphates and silicones. It uses Buriti oil instead of silicones for nutrition, softness and shine. Our tester with fine hair enjoyed using it, saying, "It was very nice – with a good consistency, didn’t notice a perfume to speak of, ideal to use everyday." The Pure Up-Lift Volume shampoo and conditioner retail for $29.50 each from selected salons and shampoo stores. Ph 0800 25 25 30 for stockists.
EVO stands out from the many natural haircare products that tend to take themselves terribly seriously, with its tongue in cheek slogans and blurbs. The hipster po-mo crowd will love these, and their cool names like Love Touch, Easy Tiger, and Icon Welder and captions like "This bottle contains a whole bunch of waaaaaahhhh, 36 long and misty glances from across the room, 28 neck-cracking head turns, 2 solid job offers, 8 fancy a %@#$ type suggestions." They retail around $34 and I used them with at Pony Professionnel by Mana Dave.
