We have been fans of designer Jyoti Morningstar’s WE’AR yoga wear label from some years now. I especially appreciate her dedication to eco sustainability and ethics in fashion production with her practices employing workers in Bali directly so they receive more of their wages without a middleman, and design-wise, it just goes from strength to strength. I have a couple of her pieces – I adore the skirts the most as it’s hard to find brands who do knit skirts well without them going ‘floppy’ at the seat and looking shapeless – and hers are divine and look flattering and stay good wear after wear. Here are some images from the latest in-season AW15 Autumn Winter collection entitled I DREAMED YOU, photographed on beaches of New Zealand’s Waiheke Island.
Below: the grey knit skirt I am enjoying wearing, with its ‘pocket’ folds on each hemline that look quite Japanese. Aerogram Skirt $130 NZ
We’ar says that ‘I DREAMED YOU’ is an ode to the WE’AR philosophy of conscious living; sartorial craftsmanship in respectful collaboration with a number of small artisan workshops. This season sees lots of denim to layer up, chunky box knit cotton angora knitwear, and cotton tees and leggings you can wear to exercise in or relax in.
We also like the snoog looped scarf to snuggle up in on cold days, and the warm beanie, and leg warmers are back from the 80s and keeping you warm! For stockists see their website wearyogaclothing.com and their shops on Waiheke Island and Ponsonby Road, Auckland as well as Bali.
