Backstage at NYNE proved bold concepts are not dead.

There were strong shapes in clothing encasing the models to give them a chic-yet-slightly-menacing vibe. The dark lighting encouraged a mood of expectancy, where models were prepped by torchlight. Occasionally, smoke-filled colours would curl in highlighting the surprisingly wearable pieces that were artfully layered in a broad spectrum of textiles.

‘Dreamy’ would be the word to encapsulate the feeling backstage at the NZ Weddings Magazine Show. Sighing, models slipped into bejeweled gowns and flower girls posed in equally fairytale-inspired outfits.

Racing down in a literal sense to the UNDERGROUND installation held at the Sofitel Auckland carpark, the backstage frenzy was easily recreated away from the main venue.

With hair and makeup being prepped for designers including Jimmy D, Maaike, Kowtow and a host of many more, on lookers were treated to a shower of glitter be it on the hair or lips.

The beauty looks on track, the stage was set for individual designers to refine their installations to showcase their vision in front of the fashion hordes.
