In this outfit post I feature something old (me. Joking, my shoes), something new (sunglasses), something borrowed (the husband’s camera) and something blue (navy cape).
As I’ve been to the hairdressers today I thought I’d do an outfit post while I still had nice hair. The importance of Nice Hair in ‘what I wore’ posts is very high for me because I am honestly rubbish at doing my own hair nicely. I go to Blaze hair on Broadway in Newmarket Auckland and my colour was by Kirsty and my blowwave by Tupou Maaka.
I’m wearing a navy crepe cape I sewed from an old vintage/retro sewing pattern that has just one seam down the centre back and long ties that are turned inside out and the body of the cape is overlocked and hemmed with a 3mm hem. It’s that easy. I think I shall make another in a different colour. It’s on the bias – hence the centre back seam – to ensure it drapes.
Underneath my cape top I’m wearing my black vinyl-top wool crepe Highnoontea Jumpsuit from their winter 2014 season, and my Mi Piaci black leather peeptoe boots with light-coloured heels.
My accessories are Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses from Clearly.co.nz, elbow gloves by NOMd, and charm necklace by Saben.
